The Right Prosthesis for Your Life
No two patients have the same needs, which is why we take an individualized approach to every prosthetic fitting. We consider your level of limb loss, daily activities, mobility goals, and personal preferences to help determine the most appropriate solution.
Whether your goal is walking comfortably at home, returning to work, or enjoying an active lifestyle, we’re here to help you move forward with confidence.
Hemipelvectomy
Hemipelvectomy involves the loss of the entire leg along with a portion of the pelvis. Prosthetic solutions at this level require specialized socket designs and careful consideration of balance, stability, and mobility.
Hip Disarticulation
Hip disarticulation involves the loss of the leg through the hip joint. A prosthesis may incorporate a custom pelvic socket and artificial hip, knee, and foot components to support standing and walking.
Above-Knee Prosthetics
Also known as transfemoral prosthetics, above-knee solutions replace the missing portion of the leg above the knee. These devices typically include a custom socket, prosthetic knee, connecting components, and prosthetic foot. Options may include mechanical or microprocessor-controlled knees.
Knee Disarticulation
Knee disarticulation involves limb loss through the knee joint while preserving the full length of the femur. Prosthetic designs accommodate the shape of the residual limb while incorporating an appropriate knee mechanism and foot.
Below-Knee Prosthetics
Also known as transtibial prosthetics, below-knee solutions are designed for individuals who retain their natural knee joint. A custom socket, protective liner, suspension system, and prosthetic foot work together to support comfort, stability, and everyday mobility.
Ankle Disarticulation
Ankle disarticulation involves limb loss through the ankle joint, often preserving the heel pad for weight-bearing. Prosthetic solutions are designed to accommodate the residual limb while supporting stability and functional movement.
Partial-Foot Prosthetics
Partial-foot prosthetics replace a missing portion of the foot while preserving the remaining anatomy. Depending on the level of limb loss, options may include custom inserts, toe fillers, partial-foot prostheses, or more supportive designs to improve balance and walking mechanics.
Lower Limb Prosthetics by Amputation Level
The level of limb loss plays an important role in determining the design, components, and function of a prosthesis. We provide personalized care for a range of lower limb amputation levels.
Understanding Your Prosthetic Components
A lower limb prosthesis is made up of several components that work together to provide support, stability, and movement. Each component is selected based on your individual needs, activity level, and prosthetic design.
YOUR CARE DOESN'T END AT FITTING
Custom Prosthetic Sockets
The socket connects your residual limb to your prosthesis. A properly designed socket is essential for comfort, weight distribution, and control.
Protective Liners
Prosthetic liners provide cushioning between your skin and socket, helping reduce friction and protect your residual limb during everyday activities.
Suspension Systems
Prosthetic Knees
For patients with above-knee or higher-level limb loss, prosthetic knees provide controlled movement and stability. Options range from mechanical systems to advanced microprocessor-controlled technology.
Prosthetic Feet
Prosthetic feet are designed to support balance, stability, and walking. Different designs accommodate different mobility needs, from everyday walking to more active lifestyles.
Pylons & Connectors
Pylons and connecting components link the socket to the prosthetic foot or knee. They help establish proper alignment, height, and overall function.
Your Next Step Starts Here
Receiving a prosthesis is just one part of your journey. As your body, activity level, and mobility needs change, your prosthesis may require adjustments to maintain a comfortable, secure fit.
